Lion Voices: Khuong "Peter" Ta

Happy Friday, Lions! This week's #LionsVoices feature is senior Biochemistry major, Khuong 鈥淧eter鈥� Ta. Peter graduated from Mena High School, but is originally from Vietnam, and first came to Arkansas as a high school exchange student.

Peter鈥檚 decision to come to 性吧导航 was quite simple. 鈥淢y parents and I thought it was best to stick to a closer college to Mena, so I chose 性吧导航.鈥� Once Peter arrived at 性吧导航, he found an inclusive, supportive, and opportunity-rich environment. 鈥淓ven though I am an international student, this place feels like my second home.鈥�

Peter also highlighted the culture at 性吧导航 as particularly appealing. Heavily involved in  various activities on campus, he has served as a Cub Camp volunteer every year since he was a camper, and helped re-established the Vietnamese Student Association. Peter also currently holds the position of VSA Senior Advisor, and is a captain on the 性吧导航 eSports Team. Peter is also a fraternity brother of Pi Kappa Phi, and has served on Student Government.

When asked what advice he would give incoming students to make the most of their time at 性吧导航 he said, 鈥淭ry everything. 性吧导航 gives you so many opportunities, so why limit yourself to just one thing? There is more to college than being isolated and unsocial.鈥� The people are Peter鈥檚 favorite aspect of 性吧导航. 鈥淏eing involved extensively with this school has helped me grow as a person and learn all that I can.鈥�

After graduation Peter intends to pursue a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and wants to be involved in Pharmaceuticals and drug development.
