The talents of music faculty at the University of Arkansas – Fort Smith will be on display during the Music Faculty Showcase held at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 30 as part of the university’s Season at The Blue Lion.

 

The show, which is free and open to the public, will be held at The Blue Lion at ԰ɵ Downtown, located at 101 N. 2nd Street. Tickets are required and can be acquired by contacting the ԰ɵ Box Office at 479-788-7300 or visiting .

 

The concert will feature professional artist-teachers in the Department of Music at ԰ɵ, who will perform a diverse program of classical and contemporary music, according to Dr. Christopher Barrick, head of the Department of Music.

 

“It is always a treat for the faculty to take the stage and share their musicianship with their students, the faculty and staff of ԰ɵ, and the greater Fort Smith community,” Barrick said. “And on a personal note, it is truly an honor to share the stage with so many gifted and talented colleagues.”

 

Judge Jim Spears, a graduate of ԰ɵ when it was Fort Smith Junior College, will serve as the master of ceremonies. A lifelong resident of Fort Smith, Spears has advocated for the arts throughout his life and his 25-year tenure as judge.
