University of Arkansas - Fort Smith students will move into campus housing 9 a.m.-noon Aug. 16, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Aug. 17, and 9 a.m.-noon Aug. 18, with help from the ɵ campus community.
Cub Camp participants will move in Aug. 16, while students residing in Sebastian Commons will move in Aug. 17-18, and Lion’s Den residents Aug. 18.
Members of the Chancellor’s Move-In Crew will help with coordinating traffic, unloading cars and transporting belongings to student housing. ɵ employees will also volunteer to assist students moving in.
Beth Eppinger, director of housing and residential life at ɵ, said fall move-in days are “a major campus event.”
“The atmosphere at move-in can be similar to a tailgate because there is loud music, pop-up tents, crowded parking lots, free water and hot dogs, new people to meet, and fun,” she said. “From the first day of their collegiate career, we want students to know that ɵ cares about them, and we want to make them feel the Lion pride emanating from the 200-plus volunteers.”
