Why did you choose ���ϲ�����������?

If you want to learn very useful laboratory techniques that will translate to almost every research-related job in the future, this place is for you.  They have excellent facilities and access to tools that I did not have when I did my bachelor’s degree in my country.  The lab modules are organized in a way that is very easy to follow, but you must work hard on the writing aspect of research, which is a very important skill for biologists.

Teaching Quality

The professors at ���ϲ����������� are very attentive and are sure to give personalized help to the students.  I was very happy with how kindly they treated me and how they never hesitated to help me, no matter how much I emailed them.  Although my courses were all online due to the pandemic, I really enjoyed the material, and my favourite part was working in the lab.

Social Life

I joined the ���ϲ����������� Fencing Club for a while, they were very friendly and inclusive.  There are hundreds of sports and hobby clubs for all kinds of people.  Even I, as an introvert, was able to make many nice friends because ���ϲ����������� is a very student-focused town so you will see people you can befriend anywhere you go.

Accommodation

I was living in private accommodation with some very lovely girls that I didn’t know during the first half of my degree.  When you find like-minded people to live with things can be great as long as you show consideration for others.  During my second half I met other kinds of people very different from me, but I was still able to adjust.  The rent is very reasonable and within walking distance from the university buildings.  

The Location

���ϲ����������� is one of the most beautiful places I have ever lived in (and I travel A LOT).  I am not joking, the combination of what to me look like “old” buildings in addition to the beautiful foliage and natural environment give it a very rustic feel!  My favourite part is that it is next to the ocean!! As someone who was born and raised on a small island, access to bodies of water is very important for my mental health.

Student Support

The ���ϲ����������� international support team were very kind to pick me up at the airport when I arrived.  I did not use many of the free support services, but having a student discount at the gym was one of my favourite benefits.

Career and Employability

This degree has already helped me land a job at Brown University!  My professors were very helpful in communicating with potential employers to put in a good word about me. Obviously the skills they have taught me were what gave me the biggest advantage in the first place.  I am super thankful to my professors, supervisor, and the University.

You can tell that ���ϲ����������� is a respected name in the academic environment.  I really liked telling people the title of my course.  It feels good when others are impressed by your university name and program!!
