Our courses in drama are designed to harness your creativity. Our courses include workshops, master classes, and production opportunities. These activities are essential for developing and refining your skills. You can develop your acting skills, practice writing for screen and stage, improve your directing skills, or express your creative vision through performance. We will support your creative development throughout. You can improve your professional skills through various creative outputs including theatre, short films, creative writing, radio, and recitals.

Our staff understands what it’s like to be involved in the creative arts, with years of experience working with drama and theatre. Having performed themselves they bring their practical knowledge to the classroom. Small class sizes allow us to know our students personally. We can provide academic and wellbeing support throughout their studies. When students arrive at ���ϲ�����������, they are assigned a personal tutor. This tutor is an academic staff member who can assist with course-related inquiries and personal challenges. We also have an open-door policy which means you can pop in for advice, support, or a general chat any time our office doors are open.

There are dedicated creative arts societies here at ���ϲ�����������. BMTS our musical theatre society is perfect for those interested in performance. ROSTRA and BEDS produce and stage plays throughout the year. Our student societies often practice and perform in our John Philips Hall as well as our arts and innovation centre Pontio.

Pontio Arts and Innovation Centre is the heart of drama here at ���ϲ�����������. There is an annual pantomime, and regular shows across the year from circus performances to cabaret and daily cinema showings. Pontio also serves as a space for gaining practical experience. Students produce a regular ticketed show where they can develop acting, dancing, directing, writing, composing, conducting, and marketing skills.

Within Pontio we have a theatre, studio theatre, and a cinema all double up as teaching spaces. Our Music building includes two professional performing halls, a recital hall and multiple practice spaces.

We work closely with the professional industry and the local community here at ���ϲ�����������. We are committed to ensuring our students gain real-life insights into the arts and creative industries. We encourage ‘learning through doing’ and offering practical experiences. Employability is a key part of our curriculum, and we want to give students as many opportunities as possible to gain practical and relevant skills. Many team members maintain industry relationships to help you gain work experience.��We’ve recently grown a partnership with Aria Film Studios, Rondo Media’s new studios in Anglesey. Our partnership means we can give students more exposure to the industry through regular visits and work experience opportunities.
